On August 29th, local time in the Philippines, the "Sail" double shield TBM, independently developed by CCCC Tianhe, was successfully launched for the Philippines' Kesaka water conveyance tunnel project.
The Kesaka Water Transfer Tunnel Project is located in Antipolo City, east of Manila, the capital of the Philippines. The tunnel is approximately 6.1 kilometers long and will effectively improve the water shortage in the capital and surrounding areas of the Philippines, benefiting 14.7 million people. It is another key livelihood project provided by CCCC Tianjin and TBM services.
The excavation diameter of the "Qihang" vessel is 3860 millimeters and the length is 198 meters. During excavation, it faces difficulties such as long-distance hard rock strata excavation, uneven soft and hard strata, fault fracture zones, and sudden mud and water influx. The company has carried out extensive targeted design for the "Qihang" vessel, equipped with expandable cutterhead, dual liquid grouting system, high torque and high-power cutterhead drive system, high-efficiency and long-life cutterhead system for excavation, high-performance cutterhead tools for hard rock, pre-treatment and advanced grouting reinforcement device, advanced detection system, etc., to ensure safe and efficient tunnel excavation.
